Whaling Garland Workshop
Saturday 29th August
10:30 - 11:30am
Dive into 19th century maritime traditions and discover how Scottish whalers celebrated the beginning of summer whilst in the frozen Arctic, remembered sweethearts left back on shore, and tried to garner good luck for the hunting. Enjoy music, tales and create a lucky ribboned garland just like Victorian whalers did.
Suitable for adults and children over 8 years. Funded by St Andrews University Impact and Innovation Fund.

Registration from 11am on the middle pier
Entry fee £1 per class.

Most Obedient Dog (and owner)
Best in Show
Every entry gets a prize, all proceeds to Festival funds


Anster's Scottish Show

This event showcases some of the best in traditional Scottish music and dancing, featuring dancers from The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, Iain MacPhail & his Scottish Dance Band, piper Jamie Crawford and Highland dancer Katie Moore.
Come along to Anstruther Town Hall to watch, listen and even join in if you like!
